BakersfieldWeb is simply a directory of businesses in and around Bakersfield, California, that service the Bakersfield metropolitan area.
"Because when I needed a plumber..." You know the rest. Seriously, the internet is a great world wide communication tool but not much help when you need a new transmission. Hence, a search tool that lists only businesses serving the Bakersfield metropolitan area.
BakersfieldWeb is free to use by anyone with internet access. Businesses pay a small fee for anything more than a basic listing.
A business can list for less than $20 per year. (less than the yellow pages) To find out more click the "Get Listed" link at the left.
From the home page you can click a letter of the alphabet to
scroll through an alphabetical list of businesses. The listing shows the
business names and telephone numbers with buttons that link to web sites. Where
available, an additional button will allow you to directly send an email.
You can also chose to search our business directory by category. This feature
uses a main and sub-category system to help refine your choices.
Businesses come and go every day. We are constantly monitoring to keep our directory up to date, but unfortunately are only human. If you find a listing that is no longer in business, please let us know by Clicking Here to send us an email and we will investigate.
Each business chooses its own category. Aside from blatant abuse or misrepresentation we let them do as they please. Not all businesses are included in the directory categories. Many businesses are included in several categories. Some businesses pay more to be listed prominently in certain categories, otherwise ranking is totally random.
Some companies pay extra for additional listings in different categories. (Just like in the phone book) Others actually operate two or more separate businesses from the same location. Since our information comes from a variety of sources, duplicate listings for the same business do slip by. If you notice an obvious duplication, please let us know by Clicking Here to send us an email and we will investigate.
It's pretty easy. Anyone who does business in the Bakersfield metropolitan area is welcome to apply for a FREE complementary listing. Just click the "Get Listed" link at the left to get started.
To accomodate our users and achieve our goal of "The most complete directory of businesses in the Bakersfield metropolitan area", businesses in Kern County are added and given a basic listing on a regular basis. The information comes from a wide variety of on-line and off-line sources.
If we never sent you a login/password combination to edit your listing, you can request one by clicking HERE.
Click the "Business LogIn" link at the left and you're on you way. Your letter contains a UserID and password to access and modify your listing.

If you would like to expand beyond your listing page, we highly recommend your own actual domain and web site. However, we can build and link to multiple pages within the BakersfieldWeb domain. The cost is $2 per page per month.
